Unstable grid power
Brown-outs, planned load shedding and diesel changeovers reset gateways and corrupt data loggers. addanode devices are low-power, battery-buffered and store-and-forward: readings are logged locally and back-filled when power returns, so your OEE and compliance records have no holes.
Intermittent connectivity
Cloud-only dashboards go blind when the mobile network drops. Our edge gateways cache data on site and sync when the link is back, and dashboards are built for low-bandwidth connections — usable on a phone over 3G, not just fibre in a head office.

Which African countries does addanode serve?
addanode currently serves South Africa (through addanode.co.za), Kenya and Ghana, with deployments across Southern Africa. Kenya and Ghana are served through remote assessment, pre-configured hardware and local installation partners, backed by our engineering team in Johannesburg.
Can industrial IoT work with unstable power and mobile coverage?
Yes — if it is engineered for it. addanode devices buffer readings locally through power cuts and network outages, then back-fill the platform when the connection returns. Monitoring designed for stable European grids typically loses data in these conditions; ours is designed not to.
Does addanode replace our existing PLCs and instruments?
No. addaNet connects to the equipment you already own — sensors, meters, PLCs and SCADA — across 500+ industrial protocols including Modbus, OPC-UA and MQTT. New sensors are added only where a measurement is missing.
What does a typical deployment cost?
Entry deployments (a single line, a borehole cluster or a cold room network) are priced for emerging markets and quoted after a short remote assessment. We publish honest cost bands in the proposal — no per-seat licensing surprises, and you start with the equipment you already have.
