How can Ghana factories monitor production downtime?
By instrumenting the line so stops are detected automatically — from the PLC where one exists, or from retrofit sensors (current clamps, product counters) on older machines — and timestamping each stop against the plant's power record. Can OEE software work on old machines with no digital output?
Yes. A machine doesn't need a network port to be measured. Retrofit current clamps detect run/stop and load, optical counters count product, and vibration sensors flag mechanical trouble — with no change to the machine's own controls. This is how most Ghanaian deployments start.
How does the system tell a power cut from a machine fault?
The gateway monitors supply voltage and the generator feed alongside the line itself, and it keeps logging on battery through the event. A stop that coincides with a mains dip is attributed to power; a stop with healthy supply is machine or process. That distinction — made automatically — ends a lot of arguments in Ghanaian production meetings.
Can we track energy per unit on generator days?
Yes — that's a standard configuration in Ghana. Meters on the grid incomer and generator feed, production counts from the line, and the dashboard shows kWh and estimated cost per unit for grid days versus generator days, per product and per shift.
What does OEE software cost for a Ghanaian factory?

Do we need reliable internet at the plant for OEE?
