Pumps that don't restart after an outage
Every load-shedding cycle is a restart test for every pump in a water network. The ones that fail to come back are usually found by the morning complaint. Telemetry finds them within minutes — pump status, tank level, flow and pressure on one dashboard.

These constraints are engineering inputs for us, not footnotes:
- A hydro-dependent grid — currently load shedding. Zambia's generation leans heavily on hydropower, and low water at Kariba has ZESCO running an eight-hour daily load-shedding schedules, with hydrology setting the relief. Any monitoring system that stops when the power does is worthless here. addanode gateways are battery-buffered, log locally through every outage and back-fill the platform when power and connectivity return — the record has no gaps.
- Generator economics. Long outages mean long generator hours, and diesel decides margin. Metering grid versus generator energy per unit of output turns a monthly fuel shock into a number you can manage shift by shift.
- Connectivity follows the line of rail. Mobile coverage is dependable in Lusaka and the Copperbelt towns, thinner at farm blocks, boreholes and remote plant outstations. We match the link to the site — 4G where it works, private LoRaWAN where it doesn't — and every device stores and forwards regardless.
- Logistics that already work. Zambia is part of addanode's established Southern African service area, and road freight from Johannesburg to Lusaka and the Copperbelt is a well-worn corridor. Pre-configured hardware ships north; your electricians or our local installation partners fit it under remote guidance — in the same time zone as our engineers.
