A borehole at a cattle post, a pump station on a transfer line, a solar array at a lodge — in Botswana the default monitoring instrument is a bakkie and a full tank. Telemetry replaces the routine drive with a dashboard and an alert, and saves the driving for the visits that fix something.
Plants without live numbers
Gaborone and Francistown factories — beverages, meat processing, dairy, feed, bricks — mostly run on paper records and end-of-month surprises. Live OEE, downtime and energy monitoring shows which machine, which shift and which power event took the output, while there is still time to react.

- Coverage ends where the sites begin. Mobile networks serve the towns and the main roads; the Kalahari's boreholes, farms and camps sit beyond them. Where 4G is absent we deploy private LoRaWAN — sensors talking to your own gateway over kilometres — with satellite backhaul for the truly remote. Every device buffers locally regardless.
- Power cuts and voltage events happen. Grid supply has its bad days and off-grid sites live on solar and diesel. addaNet gateways ride through on battery, time-stamp every power event, and verify that pumps and plant restarted — so an outage is a recorded event, not a gap in the data.
- No rip-and-replace. Existing PLCs, meters and instruments are read over Modbus, OPC-UA, pulse and 4–20 mA — among 500+ supported protocols. Sensors are added only where a machine or site offers nothing to read.
- Logistics measured in days, not weeks.
